The Senate is planning to make their final vote tonight around 8 pm EST tonight.
PRAY!!! I wrote a prayer earlier this week for them. I will continue to pray that up from my heart.
But, we must all pray! Pray that God's presence will hover over the Senate and every Senator will feel the weight of HIS conviction.
Pray for integrity, for truth, for righteousness to be done. What happens tonight will set a precedent for what is up ahead.
The prayers of a righteous person availeth much. Pray. Wholeheartedly.
DEAR FATHER,
YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE
ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN.

Praying for the Senate
Dear Father, I come before you now praying for all my Senators! I ask that you would bring conviction and discernment to each and every Senator as they convene to begin making plans to vote about the health bill. Father, I ask that you would empower the senators who walk in righteousness and truth and that you would embolden them for such an hour as this, that they would feel a supernatural power to speak boldly, confidently, and clearly the commands of your heart. I ask for supernatural favor and wisdom to surround their lives that when they speak that there will be an anointing on their words, and that the words would bring strong conviction and would cut deeply into the hearts of every senator so that when they are alone at night trying to make decisions about how they will vote, that the answers will be so clear. That they would choose LIFE. So, Father, please go before the senators who are called by Your Name, and right now, please start anointing their lives, their words. Hear their prayers, and may their words be Your heart and Your Words. In Jesus' Name, amen.
Father, I ask that you would be with the senators who would choose to use any form of deception or manipulation or game playing during this time. I ask right now for such a fear of God to start being released upon their lives that they would know that their post and position can be removed from them as quickly as it was given to them. I ask that you would start opening their eyes and that they would see that they have been called into leadership to serve and be leaders, but leaders who walk in integrity. Please start revealing to them that if there is any area where they are having to manipulate or use deception about things to get their way that it is error and dangerous, and that they would know that ultimately they will be responsible for the decisions they make. So, please open their eyes and show them the TRUTH about the decisions that are set before them. Father, I ask that you would have them see clearly that in regards to the abortion issues that there is a choice set before them. You have said in Your Word that there is a choice: Life and Death, but to choose LIFE that they may live and that their children may live. Please show them that the decisions they make will affect their lives. Some things can turn to haunt them years later, Lord, and I ask that you would reveal to them their possible consequences even as they go to start making their decisions.
In regards to the whole health bill, Father, I know that the Stupak amendment still had clauses that allowed for abortion funding under certain circumstances. Father, that's still abortion funding from federal tax dollars. Father, I ask that with the Senate amendment that comes forth that you would do a miracle. Father, I ask that the amendment that rises from the Senate will remove ALL abortion funding through federal taxpayers' moneys. Period. I ask that you bring forth a clean, direct amendment that protects LIFE. Father, I ask that there would not be a precedent for allowing some kind of abortion funding that someday down the road might allow for other kinds. Father, please allow there to be a more strict amendment that comes from the Senate, and may we know that YOU alone have done it!
Father, I ask that you speak to the people in our nation and that people would cry out to you and pray for our leaders.
I ask that you would remind us all that we are responsible for respecting our leadership and praying for them! So, Father, I ask right now that you be with all of us in this nation and that we would be a people of prayer for our leaders in this country.
I ask that ALL THE SENATORS would vote with integrity of heart, not before man, but before YOU. Father, I ask that all former allegiances and promises to man would be broken in Jesus' Name, and that the only thing they will consider as they vote is the weight of YOUR presence. I ask right now that Your Spirit would hover over the Senate. I ask that You would have an open heaven there, and that they would feel the weight of Your Presence and glory. I ask that they would know that You are Sovereign, and that they have been raised by You at this appointed time, and that they have an opportunity to glorify YOU with their choices. I pray that each one would know the fear of You, GOD, and that they would choose YOUR HEART.
May Your Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done, Lord,
On Earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus' Name, amen.

Class Today: Gifts, Glory, Character; God's Will vs. God's Promise
Sion Alford, the executive worship leader at Gateway Church, came and taught our class today at SOWTA. He had two specific sessions: 1). The Gift and the Glory and 2). Character of a Worship Leader. Ultimately, it would be best to just hear him teach the class. But, for the sake of processing the amazing things I learned today in class, some of you may benefit from reading this blog. I do pray it gives you revelation. I know the lessons gripped me.
In summation, I will recapitulate a few key details that God wants to make very clear to all of us in the body of Christ:
1). The Gift and the Glory:
I think there are two main points I received from this message. One is that God desires to reveal Himself and His glory to us that we may be transformed. The other main point is that God wants to prepare and position us with one of the 5 fold ministry callings on our lives, and that He can use the singing, speakin, etc. once HE has positioned us. For me specifically, I've felt called to evangelism for as long as I remember. I now see that as God positions me to share the gospel with others in evangelism, He will also allow me to use the charismatic gifts like singing and speaking to go about sharing the gospel so that others may receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. ALL FOR THE SAKE OF BRING GLORY TO HIS NAME!!!
Verses to check out: Luke 4:18, Isa 43:7, Ex 33:18-19, Isa 6:3, 2 Cor 4:3-7
2). The Character of a Worship Leader
My favorite part of the lesson was realizing that so many times we mistake God's promises for being His will. What that means is that when God inspires us with a promise, we set out to start "doing" the promise rather than His will, and as a result we birth an "Ishmael".
Instead of "doing" the promise, God desires us to do His will, and there are times when His will looks absolutley unlike His promise at all! But, it's His will, the process, that leads us to fulfilling His promise, if we stay His course. The will of God looks like suffering, trials, tests, and it looks very unlike the promise, but it's what refines, shapes, and molds our character for the promise.
A lot of times, when people receive a promise, they start "doing" the promise, and they start running the course on a fast track with their eyes fixed on the promise. But, when that happens, if they get to their promise too quickly, and they are missing the character needed for that positioning, the promise can actually hurt the person. It takes the process of building the character, going through the fire, going through the sufferings, and going through the tests to build the character that will fulfill God's promise in our lives.
In Hebrews 10:36 it reads, "You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised." God does not expect us to go straight to the promise without first going through His will.
Sion Alford drew a picture. He showed a sitck person on the left and the promise on the far right. He showed how we often want to take the fast track. But, he showed how that track can end up destroying the person. He then drew a picture of God's will, and it was funny because it was obviously no straight course, and it was full of turns, circles, waitings, and even going onto the backside of the dessert, no where near God's promise, and yet it was God's will. And, he shared how that eventually when we get to the promise, that we are a changed people, who can actually bear the promise that God has given us.
The thing is...Sion shared the ultimate punch line. It brought me some deep revelation regarding seeking after God's dreams and promises, rather than God's face... Ultimately, when we go through God's will to get to God's promise, we are a changed and transformed people---so much to the point where we realize something very, very key...
We realize that it was always the process that was most important after all. We realize that it was always God's WILL that was most important, after all. And, when we get to the promise, we won't necessarily be whooping and hollering about having made it to the promise, rather, we will be talking about the process and thanking God for the process of getting us there.
SO...That tells us some things to consider for today:
1. Don't waste time seeking how to make dreams happen, let's spend time seeking God's face and His will for today.
2. Don't get discouraged if we're in a trial or test, but rejoice because it's shaping us for God's promise, so we can bear it.
3. Don't try so hard to be noticed by men who will put you on the fast track when they see our gifts, instead, be willing to
be obscure and unnoticed because it's God who will bring forth the promise in due time.
4. Be patient.
5. Persevere.
6. Let God keep refining our character into holiness.
7. In due time God always keeps His promises, but once we get there what we will remember is His faithfulness along the way.
8. Trust God! Love Him and keep seeking His face and obey Him today; it's His will that takes us to His promise.
God bless you!

God's Power to Do GOOD
God gives us amazing power to overcome the evil around us with His consuming goodness. All that is required is that we seek His face. I learned again tonight that when I seek His face that is where He floods me with Living Water, and I am emboldened to accomplish the will of my Father with radical courage. :D Radical courage to do good.

Word Of God
I went to Gateway today. The sermon was powerful! God's Word, the Sword of the Spirit. The preacher shared how when the enemy attacks us, he first attackes God's Word, then us. The pastor showed how in the garden of Eden, the serpent twisted God's Word. Then, he showed how Eve herself didn't even know what God had said about the tree of Life because she added to His words. (Go back and read Genesis 2 and 3 to see for yourself! :)). She obviously received her info secondhand. We were exhorted to not just get God's Word from others but to dig into it for ourselves.
We were also reminded of the goodness of our Father. God gives us His Word for protection. The reason why the enemy wants to snatch God's Word away from us is so that we aren't protected. We must know and hide God's Word in our hearts; it protects us.
My prayer is that this week we will all get hungry for His Word and find ourselves filled up with His Word and empowered to speak and live His Word as we go along the Way that we may see God glorified in all we say and do.
